CHURCHILL, Clementine. Mimeographed typescript, 'My Visit to Russia', 16 leaves, folio, inscribed to her secretary, 'To Miss Bass with my thanks Clementine S. Churchill May 1945', two brief sentences and one paragraph of four lines cancelled but legible, blue roan gilt.
Clementine had spent 5 weeks on a tour of Russia to see hospitals helped by her Red Cross fund from late March to mid-May 1945 (thus missing V-E Day in London), at a stage when British relations with Russia had already decisively soured.
