Lot Essay

It is interesting to note that the carving on the present censer is very similar to that found on the best jadeite censers produced during this period. Compare the form and carving with the jadeite censer included in the present sale, lot 2089. The exceptional material used in both cases and similarities in the style of the carving suggest that they are possibly products of the same workshop.
