A WHITE JADE VASE AND COVER
QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY

Of slightly flattened modified double-gourd form raised on a spreading foot, the lower section carved in shallow relief with two shou characters on either side framed by the Eight Buddhist Emblems above a lappet band around the foot, the upper section with tied wan symbols above bats between ruyi-head borders, mounted at either side with bat handles suspending loose rings, the cover similarly carved with ruyi and mounted by a knop finial
