Lot Essay

For the form and volume of the wig and face compare the Dynasty XXII granite seated figure of Lady Shebensopdet, pp. 157-159 in Russmann, Egyptian Sculpture, and slightly later in date, the red granite bust of a goddess, no. 94 in Chappaz and Chamay, Reflets du Divin, Antiquités Pharaoniques et Classiques d'une Collection Privée.
