A LARGE CORINTHIAN BLACK-FIGURED ALABASTRON

With an undulating snake between two cocks, beading for the scales along its underside, the snake head with large eyes, positioned at the breast of the right cock, tapering to the tail that extends through the bird's legs, decorative palmettes in the hollows of its S-curves, the facing cocks filling the entire vase, with high red crests and beards, the feathers along their bodies rendered by fine crosshatching, their large wings red with bands of white dots framing triangles, the base black, their tail feathers fanning, with long red and white-dotted black single feathers overlapping; multiple rosettes and dots in the field, plain bands and petals along the neck, petals around the mouth, a large rosette on the base, dimpled at the center
