A GREEK TERRACOTTA GODDESS
CANOSAN, HELLENISTIC PERIOD, CIRCA 3RD CENTURY B.C.
Depicted nude but for a mantle draped over her left shoulder, right forearm, and right leg, the excess drapery falling between her legs, standing on a stepped circular plinth, leaning with her left arm upon a herm, her hair arranged in a melon-coiffure surmounted by an ivy fillet, pigment preserved throughout including red along the plinth edge, crosshatching on its upper surface, blue and pink for her mantle and red for her hair
