A Set of Eleven Porcelain Ornithological Plates
By the Kornilov Factory, St Petersburg, 1900-1917
Circular, with gilt rims, each decorated with a different bird after designs by I. Gal'nbek (1855-1934), comprising a moorcock, a water hen, a pair of quail, a Siberian partridge, a white partridge, a pheasant, a blackbird, a snipe, a teal duck, a kingfisher and a wild goose, the border with geometric motifs, the birds identified in Russian on the front and English on the reverse, marked on reverse with printed factory mark and inscription 'Made in Russia by Kornilow Bros.
