A MEISSEN CHINOISERIE TEABOWL AND SAUCER
CIRCA 1725-28, GILDER'S 98. MARKS
Each side of the teabowl painted with an Oriental on a terrace, within a shaped quatrefoil cartouche gilt with scrollwork enclosing Böttger-lustre panels issuing purple and iron-red scrolls, the interior with a spray of indianische Blumen, the saucer similarly decorated, the gilt borders with slanting geometric ornament (wear to saucer cartouche)
