JEAN-BAPTISTE-JOSEPH LE TELLIER SENIOR (FRENCH, C. 1726 - AFTER 1778)

on ivory with original artist's joins on card

A similar 'turquerie' miniature by this artist, signed and dated 1770, is in the Louvre, illustrated in P. Jean-Richard, Miniatures sur ivoire. Musée du Louvre. Musée d'Orsay, Paris, 1994, no. 431, p. 238, described p. 239 (erroneouly as by Le Tellier the Younger).
