A PAIR OF NYMPHENBURG SHAPED CIRCULAR PLATES
CIRCA 1765-1770, IMPRESSED BAVARIAN SHIELD MARKS AND PRESSNUMMER 70
Probably painted by C. Purtscher, each plate with masquerading figures in landscape vignettes, one with Dr Boloardo from the Commedia dell'Arte, a masked lady and a companion, the other with a masked lady seated on a rock with a basket of lemons, two figures nearby, within gilt line and dotted silver line borders at the wells, the borders with pendant silver-edged chequered blue ribbons and pendant gilt foliage, shaped gilt band rims (slight wear to silver and gilding, one plate with minute frit to rim at 12 o'clock and two minute frits to underside of rim)
