A CONTINENTAL SILVER-MOUNTED TORTOISESHELL-LINED LAQUERED BONBONNIERE WITH A SECRET MECHANISM

Circular box, the independent cover and base lacquered with brown and yellow stripes, the cover centred with a glazed miniature of a gentleman, in pink coat and green waistcoat, with an attached painted ivory arm holding a black mask, which pivots to hide the sitter's face, the mechanism released by a lever hidden along the interior chased silver mount
