COMPARATIVE LITERATURE:
G. Gentilini, I Della Robbia: La scultura invetriata nel Rinascimento, Florence, 1992, II, p. 375.

This figure relates, albeit in a more simplified and reduced form, to the terracotta statue of the kneeling Virgin by Marco della Robbia (1468-after 1532) in the Ospedale degli Innocenti, Florence, dated by Gentilini (op. cit.) to circa 1505. The two sculptures share similar poses, physiognomies and dispositions of their drapery.
