The preoccupation with the imageries of young girls persists with The confrontation which forms part of a series in which Yasmin depicts girls in dreamy and mysterious contexts that are evocative of the drama and the fantasy. Like the other compositions, this girl is also wearing a pretty frock, much like the ones worn by Alice in the Wonderland or Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, hence the dress itself whilst placed in the setting of a forest is already rich with meaning and connotation. The protagonist is indeed dressed for the occasion of an adventure. Yasmin further enhanced the unfathomable of the work as she lets the girl holding up the mask of a rabbit and half covering her face. A game of chase perhaps, or a chase of game by the two protagonists - the girl and the rabbit. The line is blurred, intendedly by the artist, between the chaser and the chased, the real life and the drama, the romance and the uncanny. The lush forestation is the best stage for the unfolding of the event as we the viewers take a long breadth and wait in anticipation.
