Details
Château Mouton-Rothschild--Vintage 1982
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Lot 63 levels: bottom neck; two capsules cut and bottom portion removed prior to Christie's inspection to reveal château and vintage branded corks, two nicked capsules, one nicked label, lightly bin soiled labels
Lot 64 levels: into neck; one lightly bin soiled label
Lot 63 in original wooden case
"The 1982 Mouton showed an inky color and a marvelously perfumed scent on the nose, with notes of ripe blackberry, plum and fig enlivened by hints of exotic spices like anise and lemongrass. The wine was showing remarkably little development, and only the barest hints of saddle leather and really no earthy or funky aromas at all. On the palate, the wine was rich and full-bodied, with a supple, sensuous texture, a substantial weight, and a long finish." CC, October 2008
