Two art boards for the preliminary design of the inner sleeve artwork for the Rolling Stones' controversial 1978 album Some Girls, each consisting of a layout of cropped black and white photographic celebrity portraits mounted on card, a sheet of clear acetate overlay with superimposed cut-out photographic portraits of the band members and a sheet of tracing paper inscribed with the outlines of faces corresponding to the cutouts and celebrity portraits underneath, both -- 20x15in. (50.8x38cm.); accompanied by two corresponding black and white photographic proofs of the preliminary artwork depicting a montage of photographs of celebrities, some of whose faces have superimposed with portraits of members of the Rolling Stones, the imagery includes several shots withdrawn from the albums final artwork, including: Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Raquel Welch and Lucille Ball, both -- 18x12in. (45.7x30.5cm.)
