The red variegated marble top above panelled doors with engraved brass strap hinges and handles enclosing a later shelf, stamped 'LAMB 26850 MANCHESTER', on stand with ring turned and carved uprights on plinth base with castors

The Manchester firm of James Lamb was noted for its dedication to artistic design and construction using the best materials and workmanship. They exhibited throughout Europe and in the late 1860's employed Charles Bevan to design inlaid Gothic style pieces.
