Each with a foliate carved toprail above a padded back, arms and seat covered in blue cut-velvet damask supplied by Chalmet, the scrolled arm terminals above a similarly carved front-rail on rocaille ornament-capped cabriole legs and scrolled toes

This pair of fauteuils á la reine are modern copies of the pair by Jean-Baptiste Gourdin, (lot 4). A matching pair from Walter Lees' Collection were sold Christie's, London, 14 September 2006, lot 290.
