MARK OF WILLIAM ALLEN, LONDON, 1799
Oblong with reeded rim and two reeded loop handles, the slightly domed cover with a part-ivory finial, engraved with a coat-of-arms, further engraved underneath with initials, marked underneath and inside cover
11½ in. (29 cm.) wide
gross weight 23 oz. (703 gr.)
The arms are those of Blencowe quartering Waleston impaling another.
