Lot Essay

Coplestone Warre Bampfylde was an amateur topographical draughtsman and caricaturist, He showed several works at the Royal Academy (1771-1783), as an honorary exhibitor, including views of Devonshire and Southampton. He was also a landscape gardener and remodelled his estate at Hestercoombe, Somerset.
