Together with a Danish parcel-gilt and red-painted black terracotta relief plaque, depicting Cupid and Hercules, marked to the reverse L. Hiorth Eneret 480, 19th Century - 29.5 x 18.5 cm.; A polychrome decorated terracotta relief plaque with a classical scene after Bertel Thorwaldsen, marked to the reverse Carl Budde-Lund Eneret 845, 19th century -14 x 33.5 cm.; And a plaster relief depicting classical warriors, 20th Century -35 x 73 cm. Lot Essay

Rasmus Peter Ipsen (1815-1860) founded the Ipsen firm in 1843. Based in Copenhagen the firm specialized in terracotta objects. In the last quarter of the 19th Century the firm produced a large amount of Neo-classical objects for a wealthy Danish and international clientele. The impressed factory mark P.Ipsen eneret was used from 1871-1917.
