Two Japanese Kakiemon-style bowls and covers and a plate
18th Century
Comprising two chrysanthemum-shaped bowls and covers, one painted in iron-red, turquoise, blue and gilt to the interior with kiku-haeds, the other with a coiling dragon, variously decorated with flowers to the exterior and covers, chips and frits, 14 cm. diam.; and a plate decorated in iron-red, turquoise, blue and gilt enamels to the central roundel with two phoenix, the rim with further flowers and birds, hairline cracks, 21.5 cm. diam.
