Lot Essay

This work was included in Adler's first British exhibition which he held jointly with Josef Herman in 1942 at Connells Gallery, Glasgow. The work is one of a series of studies for a painting of the same title which is now exhibited in the Museum of Fine Arts in Tel Aviv, Israel.
