Sold with the Terry Frost Estate label.
Terry Frost lived in Banbury from 1963-1974. During this period, Frost was influenced by road signs which he photographed and used to produce abstract forms. Chris Stephens writes 'Banbury introduced a new urban dimension to Frost's art ... though they [the road signs] irritated him, it is clear that they also provided a certain carnivalesque pleasure' (C. Stephens, Terry Frost, London, 2000, p. 55).
