A FRENCH SILVER BOUILLON, COVER AND STAND
maker's mark of Pierre-Jacques Meurice, Paris, 1819-1838

The circular stand with an engraved band of leaves to the border and anthemion rim, the bouillon on circular spreading base decorated with a band of berried leaves, the body applied on either side with a female bust within a garland wreath and flanked with swans, scrolling foliage and flower heads, the scroll handles cast with baskets of fruit terminating in ram's heads, the slightly domed cover with sea-horse and foliate handle surrounded with a stylised flower
the stand 18.8cm. (7in.) diam, the bouillon 13.5cm. (5 3/8in.) high
