LATE 19TH CENTURY, PSEUDO INTERLACED LS IN BLUE
The pair of plates each painted in the centre with a titled portrait of Francois I or Louis XI, within a gilt foliate frame against a dark blue 'jewelled' ground, the turquoise-ground cabinet-cup and saucer reserved with a panel depicting a peasant feeding chickens, the saucer with landscape panels all within laurel borders, and the dark blue-ground cabinet-cup painted with peasants dancing within an oval frame, the saucer with a bird in flight in gilding, all within entwined laurel borders
