The saddle decorated in gold and silver takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, nashiji and inlaid mother-of-pearl, with seashells against a glossy black-lacquer ground and with prominent mon (family crests) to front and back, the edges of the saddle pads lacquered gold, with dyed saddle cushion and stirrup leather
