Sri Lanka, 18th century
Scepter-like shape, with tapering shaft and carved moldings on either side of smooth hand grip, inlaid red and black circle-and-dot pattern, the two-part head with opening to hold a fan, intricately carved with floral and leaf motif above a band of lotuses
