Painted on both sides with scenes from the Yuan dynasty novel 'The Romance of the Western Chamber' (Xixiangji), with various depictions of a man in a procession with priests and attendants, and then later seated at a table reading a book, climbing over a wall to meet a lady and her attendant, and courting a lady in a bedroom chamber, within crosshatch borders on one side and double-line borders on the other, the ends pierced with apertures for attachment
