AN UNUSUAL BRONZE HINGED FITTING
SOUTHERN CHINA, CHU STATE, WARRING STATES PERIOD, 4TH CENTURY BC
Comprised of two hinged sections cast in relief on one side, one section cast in openwork with various types of scrolls and granular patterns, with some scrolls projecting from the edges, the other a clip with shaped rectangular front cast with similar decoration encompassing a small mask, while the back plate is rectangular and plain, pierced through both plates with four pairs of holes for attachment, with milky blue-green patina
