A MAGNIFICENT SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND PENDANT NECKLACE
The cushion-shaped sapphire pendant "The Blue Princess" weighing 113.72 carats in a pavé-set diamond ribbon surround suspended from a line of three cushion-shaped sapphires weighing 23.75, 26.59 and 40.57 carats, each in a diamond scroll surround to the rectangular-cut sapphire twin-row necklace, diamond and sapphire triangular cluster clasp, mounted in platinum, circa 1950, with French assay marks
With three certificates dated 10/4/1996 from the Gübelin Gemmological Laboratory stating that the four larger sapphires are of Burmese origin and show no evidence of thermal treatment
The certificate for "The Blue Princess" sapphire is accompanied by a letter stating "The 113.72 ct natural sapphire possesses a saturated and homogeneous colour, combined with a very high degree of transparency which is rarely encountered in sapphires of this exceptional size.
