After the inaugural event this race saw a strong entry from the Bugatti and Maserati teams and many private entries including Talbot, Mercedes etc: with Bugattis dominant it developed into a duel between local hero Louis Chiron and the amateur Rene Dreyfus, who held a slender lead of just 2 seconds after 90 laps - however due to a late pit-stop Chiron was unable to catch the flying Frenchman.
