Team Lotus driver 1968 and from 1976 until 1980. After a dismal showing in the 1976 season's early races, Andretti was sufficiently impressed to drive for Team Lotus for the rest of the year, subsequently driving the revolutionary 'ground-effect' cars which gave him his World Drivers Championship in 1978.
