1986 FERRARI MONDIAL 3.2 CABRIOLET
Chassis No. 62831
Engine No. 62831
White with magnolia leather interior and black top.
Engine: V8 four overhead camshafts, 32 valves, 3,185cc, 260bhp at 7000 rpm; Gearbox: five speed manual; Brakes: four wheel disc; Suspension: independent all round. Left hand drive.
Reviving a name that Ferrari had first used in the early 1950's, the Mondial was unveiled at the 1980 Geneva Motor Show. The 3 litre V8 engine was mounted transversely behind the rear seats while the wheelbase for this new model had been lengthened by almost four inches to accommodate four passengers in comfort. The first series of cars had the 308 designation as in the GTB and GTS and after production had been running for 12 months Bosch K-jetronic fuel injection was available. By late 1982 the Mondial received the four valve per cylinder head treatment thereby designating it a quattrovalvole and this, together with an increase in engine capacity from 3 litres to 3.2 litres, improved both horsepower and torque. Styling was by Pininfarina. A cabriolet version was introduced in 1984 and was shown for the first time at the Brussels Motor Show in January of that year. Interior comfort was not neglected, with leather trim and a leather bound steering wheel, adjustable for height and reach. Air conditioning and central locking were standard equipment.
This 3.2 litre Mondial Cabriolet was purchased new by the owner in April 1986 and has now been driven for some 20,800km. A Blaupunkt radio cassette is fitted and the car also has an anti-theft alarm. This versatile and totally useable Ferrari is sold with Swiss registration documents.
