1931 AERO 662

Chassis No. 3576
Red with black interior and black hood.

Engine: two stroke, vertical twin, 662cc, 18bhp; Gearbox: three speed transaxle; Brakes: rear wheel drum; Suspension: beam axles front and rear with quarter elliptic springs. Right hand drive.

The Aero 662 was a development of the Aero 10 model using a smoother vertical twin engine producing 18bhp. Economical to run, and with a good turn of speed, the body was wider than the "10". The durability of the 662 was proved by racer Bohumil Turek on a non-stop run across the country in the summer of 1932.

This 1931 example has a red torpedo body with black interior and black hood. It was first registered in New Jersey, USA, although has been in Switzerland since 1990 and is Swiss duty paid. The condition is described as "almost" restored and it should be relatively simple to complete the restoration. An interesting machine that would make an ideal introduction to pre-war motoring.
