Lot Essay

Wright's thermometers which would have seen regular and heavy use in his glaciological and meteorological work in the south. He remarked on the lack of both a sensitive electric thermometer which would have enabled them to measure temperatures more accurately, and of wet-and-dry-bulb thermometers to measure air humidity.
