更多詳情
Like other daguerreotypes in the photographer's archive, this shows Girault de Prangey's particular passion for capturing the texture of trees, despite the technical difficulties involved. Girault de Prangey could not pass through Lebanon without recording the tree that is so important to the country's culture, history and religion. Cedrus libani is a species of cedar native to the mountains of the Mediterranean region, in Lebanon, western Syria and south central Turkey.
