Gadroon borders to dishes, covers part-fluted and capped by baronial coronet finials, engraved with a baron's coat of arms to covers and to centre of dishes, three of the four engraved under bases with their respective numbers in set and their scratch-weights

The arms are those of Liddell, Baron Ravensworth, with Simpson of Bradley in pretence. This follows the elevation of Sir Thomas Henry Liddell (1775-1855), Baronet of Ravensworth Castle, co. Durham to the peerage on 17th July 1821. (8)
