After the portrait by Richard Lauchert (1823-1869), the plaque shows Princess Beatrice (1857-1944), youngest daughter of Queen Victoria, holding a miniature of the Prince Consort beside the garden wall on the terrace of the Rosenau (Coburg). She was painted by Lauchert for Queen Victoria during her stay in Coburg in the summer of 1863.
The original is currently hanging at Osborne House, Isle of Wight.

With thanks to Vanessa Remington of the Royal Collection for her help in identifying the sitter.
