Lot Essay

François Linke frequently exhibited this particular model in his Faubourg Saint-Antoine showroom (see C. Payne, Woodbridge, p. 422) and filled various orders of towering torchères for prominent clients, including the King's study at Ras al-Tin in Alexandria, Egypt.
