Lot Essay

The lot is accompanied by a letter, dated December 14, 1909, handwritten in ink by an (unsurprisingly) anonymous author to the local doctor, Monsieur Brâlès: 'J'ai le regret de vous annoncer que j'ai attraper un bouton sur la verge après avoir fait l'amour avec 3 putains du 92 rue de Provence et 2 putains du 122. Examinez bien ces dames de façon qu'elles ne contaminent pas les vieux employés de chemin de fer comme moi qui désirent profiter de leur retraite.'
