With octagonal twist sighted barrels each with two gold-inlaid lines and gold-lined maker's stamp 'ALLEY DUBLIN' at the breech, engraved tangs each incorporating the rear-sight and decorated with foliage and a martial trophy, flat border engraved detented locks each signed 'JN. ALLEY' and with pierced cock, semi-rainproof pan and roller, figured walnut half-stocks each with chequered butt, engraved iron mounts including spurred trigger-guards each with pineapple finial, silver escutcheons and barrel-bolt escutcheons, engraved silver fore-end caps, and later ramrods
