With blued octagonal sighted barrel with 'SAML. COLT' script signature, cylinder with roll engraved stage coach scene and retaining some original blued finish, frame with hand engraved 'COLTS PATENT' and retaining some original faded case-hardened finish, silvered brass grip-strap and trigger-guard, figured burr walnut one-piece grips, case-hardened loading-lever, matching numbers throughout, the principle numbers each with a dot, and much original finish, the barrel, frame, grip-strap, trigger-guard and loading-lever lug each with 'donut scroll' engraving, the hammer engraved with a wolf's head
