The first of .36 calibre, with octagonal barrel with dove-tailed German silver blade fore-sight and signed 'ADDRESS COL. SMAL. COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA', frame stamped 'COLTS PATENT', brass grip-strap and trigger-guard, and chequered one-piece ivory grips each decorated in low relief with a cartouche of flower-heads, the major parts with the exception of the cylinder engraved with scrollwork; the second of .44 calibre, with sighted barrel, blued cylinder with roll engraved naval scene, border and foliate engraved frame and mounts, figured one-piece walnut grips, Liege proof
