With sighted barrel with Whitworth Patent hexagonal rifling, lock marked 'ENFIELD', dated '1863' and with 'VR' cypher on the tail, regulation walnut three-quarter stock stamped with Enfield roundel and the number '1' on the right side of the butt, regulation iron mounts including three barrel-bands, the front band incorporating the cylindrical bayonet lug, and later iron ramrod
