A ROMAN CORNELIAN AND GOLD PENDANT
CIRCA 2ND CENTURY A.D.
The circular stone with tapering sides, engraved with Zeus enthroned, a mantle draped around his legs, his left arm outstretched, supporting on his hand winged Victory holding out a wreath, a sceptre in his other hand, an eagle at his feet, the stone perforated and threaded with a gold wire, one end with a sheet gold collar terminating in an inverted granulated pyramid, the other end coiled into a loop and joined to a ribbed tube, mounted
