Realistically modelled, with black eyes, beak and facial markings, blue head, bands of ochre and cream feathers around neck, body and wings dark red, mounted
4¼ in. (10.8 cm.) high
Provenance
Collection of the second Earl of Belmore (1774-1841), who travelled to the Near East between 1816 and 1818. Much of the material which the Earl collected at that time came from Deir-el-Medina. On his death the greater part of his collection went to the British Museum.
