OTTOMAN SYRIA, DATED AH 1117/1763-64 AD
Comprising ten tiles, the Throne verse, Qur'an II (sura al-baqara), v.255, written in cobalt blue thuluth on white ground over the ten tiles, each tile with two floral spandrels flanking a carnation in cobalt-blue, turquoise and manganese, the border with reciprocal skittle-pattern, dated AH 1177 at the end of the inscription, five tiles with repaired breaks, one with an area of restoration
