Of cylindrical form with three knop feet and separate hinged lid with openwork finial, the surface of the body and lid decorated with a wide band of naskh against a ground of scrolling vine with fleshy leaves, each of these bands surrounded by bands of concentric circles, the finial with openwork scrolls, with double hinge terminating in small palmettes and similar lock, some corrosion

The top of the box is inscribed with benedictory phrases, bi'l-yumn wa'l-baraka wa'l-dawla wa'l-nusra wa'l-rahma wa'l-raha (with good fortune, and blessing, and wealth, and victory, and ease, and mercy). The body is similarly inscribed with benedictory phrases, bi'l-yumn wa'l-baraka wa'l-dawla wa li-sa[hibihi] bi'l-yumn wa'l-baraka wa'l-salama wa... (With good fortune, and blessing, and wealth, and to its owner, with good fortune, and blessing, and happiness, and...).
