Of shallow form rising from short vertical foot, the interior with a radiating motif of blue and white panels outlined in deep lustre and containing lustre inscription on a ground of scrolls, intact, in fitted wooden box

A very similar dish to the present, with alternating blue and white panels with sketchy scrolls in what Oliver Watson has termed the 'monumental style' and a simulated inscription, is in the Al-Sabah Collection (Oliver Watson, Ceramics from Islamic Lands, London, 2004, p. 351, cat. O.7).
