Lot Essay

The inscription comprises the bismallah followed by Qur'an LV, sura al-rahman, v. 26 and then 'this is the tomb of al-Sheikh Arah...(?) al-Salih [the virtuous] 'Abi Bakr ibn al-Hassan, may God illuminate his tomb. He died on the day ... 5th Dhu'l Qa'da, the year AH 602'.
